My eyes, ears and sensibility is being questioned as of late. This is the first time in my life, I've had the time and curiosity to watch, read and investigate the news media. Thanks to the worldwide web, I've also had the opportunity to scuntinize the thoughts and true feelings of the general population of this country. It's scary.
No longer do people need to be unbias, intelligent, judicially thinking or forgiving.
No longer do people care what others think of them. Thanks to the blogsites, they can hide behind their screen names and scream out whatever comes to their minds. They can put all fairness aside and tout whatever "they" think to be the undeniable truth. They don't have to submit to reason or fact, they just have to find enough people like themselves and feed off of each others opinions. Truth isn't important.
There are people in this country who will swear that Barack Obama is not a natural born citizen of the USA. This is comical to me. It's logical to me, there's no way the Republican Party would allow Obama to become the president if it could be proven otherwise, so what are they saying. Are they saying they don't trust their own?
Then there's the Casey Anthony case...this one is a real eye-opener. Why are so many people claiming to know so much about the Anthony family? Why do people claim they KNOW Casey Anthony murdered her daughter Caylee? The answer is obvious. Can you say NEWS MEDIA? People actually believe everything they hear from media and the internet. This is unnecessary, especially when the State of Florida has the Sunshine Law. Groovy. So who needs the media? I don't, but there are people who do. There are people who can not draw their own conclusion unless it is in agreement with the masses. They have the need to belong and enjoy the camaraderie. The word mob comes to mind. Think of the word "mob". When I think of mob, I think of an unruly group of people vandalizing after Hurricane Katrina or the mob that got together to burn businesses after the infamous Rodney King verdict. That is a mob. Another thing comes to mind...protestors riding along Hopespring Drive pass the Anthony home. That's a mob. So be it. I'm not part of them. I don't condone mobs in any sense of the word. If I have to belong to a mob to have a certain opinion, I would choose not to. I'm not the "nutjob" who voted in a poll selecting Casey is innocent either, but that's the rumor some want to spread. My choice is not to vote. My choice is to hear all of the evidence and respect the jury decision. Is that so bad? I think not. I'd rather be objective and take advantage of the Sunshine Law. Hooked on Phonics worked for me..I can read. I can think all by myself. I don't need to belong to a mob. I am my mother's daughter. She is proud.
Thanks Mom..

About Me
- DeeMarie
- I keep a close eye on justice in America. I'm a huge advocate of the truth. I was raised by a strong mild mannered lady, who warned me early in life to never believe everything you hear and only half of what you see. Born in the era of the JFK Assassination, I learned through my mother that the news can not be trusted, we must believe what is logical and what can be proven. She also taught me never to pre-judge anyone until I know the facts. Also never forget the atrocity of the Salem Trials. I've taught my children the same and I am very proud of them when they don't follow the crowd. I have raised three free thinking individuals. Something that I hope can be an asset in their lives. This is who I am. A hippy at heart, a realist in mind and a constant student of life.
